Have to give credit to a tip-off from the Abeano twitter feed that lead me to discovering Citizen, via the great (and sublimely designed) Truants Blog. Being once again met with anonymity in the face (or lack of) of a new act is nothing new, in fact the less is more trend shows no signs of letting up. But when you’ve got material like Citizen here to back it up, all other material becomes superfluous (and rightly so). This is truly captivating, energetic, pulsating and in your face electro. It harks to House music, or Dance’s best moments in a melting pot of nostalgia. You’ll be reaching for your perfectly legal, herbal highs in a manner of minutes, amidst enjoyment of Citizen’s genius.

As well as two, insanely good original tracks below in the form of “Freedom” and “92″, Citizen isn’t bad when he tries his hand to remixes either, in fact, I’d go as far to say that his reworks of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” and Beyonce’s “Run The World (Girls)” are vast improvements on the original, hell, making a song sound like it is sampling the Space Jam soundtrack is no mean feat.
