SATURDAY LOVE

Ahead of the release of a new EP, Freaking Out, in September, Toro Y Moi has released “Saturday Love”. A song that, so naturally, sounds like a 21st Century sequel to The Cure’s “Friday I’m In Love”. Not that it bears much in way of similarities, other than a particularly emphatic vocal, yet it’s sentiment remains the same, an adoring and idolizing tribute to some returning love, when those days of the week that stand between you just can’t come quickly enough.

UPDATE: Found out the song’s a cover of Cherelle & Alexander O’Neal which although familiar sounding, I didn’t know before. It’s enough of a different take to stand apart, even comprising a different verse structure.
