The fact that Lewis Rainsbury, a.k.a. Vondelpark, is finally coming around to releasing a debut album is something I find incredibly exciting. After 2011′s frankly astonishing nyc stuff and nyc bags EP it was only a matter of time, of course, but with such a defined, peculiar, sound and equally ambitious live outing, the real question is whether it can attest to what will be an undoubtedly lofty aim. They kick off the promotional run with this re-record of “california analog dream”, an old cut, but one that has definitely benefited from a more hi-fidelity production, you can almost understand what he is singing.
