honestly, this is sending me right back to those hazy days of 2008 and reminding me exactly why I adored the earnest, aching folk-pop of Laura Marling, and as a self-ascribed idiosyncratic teen, why wouldn’t I? Austin native Jess Williamson sets herself apart with a similarly barbed and peculiarly style of song-writing; the second track here “blood song” was posted shortly before I started writing and about the former, and both provide two sides of the same coin, each endearing, each spell-binding.
