alvvays – archie, marry me

i’ve now seen alvvays a bunch of times live and can happily say they are probably the best new band kicking up a fuss off the back of the hyperbole-driven great escape fest in brighton. “archie, marry me” is an irresistible anthem for generation me, kicking back against the prescribed notions of what an intellectual twenty-something should be doing and offering up some genuine for once. i would love to be archie right about now.
