Light Pollution
A band you may recognize from the Horrorshow Podcast #5 I made, have released their album today, June 8th. I really enjoyed their first release ‘Good Feelings’, as it draws from bands like Delorean and Animal Collective. On their Myspace page the band state their infuences as ‘very sudden, discrete periods of intense anxiety, mounting physiological arousal, fear, stomach problems, discomfort, and difficulties with spatial orientation’ which all adds up to synthesized brilliance.
The band are touring this month in the states with the likes of Neon Indian, Holy Fuck and A Place to Bury Strangers. Their second release from the album is accompanied by a video and is now featured on Pitchfork. ‘Drunk Kid’s’ is a hazy song with strong drums that brings chillwave to mind, and the video, directed by frontman Jim Cicero features a man getting blazed and driving to a car wash.
