As soon as I saw that video of fellow countrymen Phoenix and Daft Punk playing together, I was filled with a sense of wonderment and overjoyed that those two robots had made some kind of comeback to the stage. It feels like an unbelievably long time since we’ve been graced with a visible Daft Punk presence (apart some really good mixes in DJ Hero and of course, their Tron:Legacy soundtrack is upcoming).
Anyway, after hearing them play just those few slow, robotic vocal samples of Harder Better Faster Stronger made me remember this lovely live gem from Alive 2007. It’s a brilliant mash of the formerly mentioned song and Around the World. Once you start listening it will be obvious how amazing Daft Punk just must be live.
