IMPRESSIONS: Dum Dum Girls – He Gets Me High

Here’s the new title song from the forthcoming Dum Dum Girls EP that will be released on tuesday. The song is a punk-infused tour-de-force that reveals the EP may be less of a fuzzed-up affair than the group’s 2010 debut, I Will Be. It’s an addictive track that combines some loving vocals and evocative lyrics, with a rough and raucous edge that underpins the whole thing. If it’s a good sign of what the rest of the EP will sound like, count me in. Of course, like many others, I want to hear their Smiths cover, no less than “There Is A Light That Never Goes Out.”
