Odd Future x Neutral Milk Hotel

In what I think will be the first of many great Odd Future Mash-ups, gnarlo has uploaded these two tracks that splice together some Tyler, The Creator and Earl Sweatshirt tracks with Neutral Milk Hotel songs. The fit is actually very surprising. First up is “Drop The Aeroplane Over The Sea” that combines the Earl track “Drop” from Odd Future’s RADICAL Mixtape and “In The Aeroplane Over The Sea” by Neutral Milk Hotel. Secondly we’ve got “King Of Assmilk Flowers” with “Assmilk”, the Earl featuring highlight from Tyler, The Creator’s album BASTARD and “King of Carrot Flowers” from Neutral Milk Hotel. The combination for both tracks is quite unsettling, stripping back the dark and distinct beats and replacing them with these acoustic backdrops only goes to imply some contradiction of positivity to the songs. It works though, coming together a lot better than I’m sure most people would of imagined. As mentioned before, I’m sure this is only the start of OF mash-ups, an occurrence that’s bound to rise alongside the group’s star-bound popularity. Listen to the two mash-ups below.
