SHADOWS IN THE DARK
I remember Willy Mason. I hope you do too. One of my favourite performers circa 2006, his debut album Where The Humans Eat was great and he even did good with his follow-up If The Ocean Gets Rough. After that though, I’ve personally heard little. What prompted me to look into the enigmatic singer-songwriter was the fact that he’s going to be playing at the brilliant Field Day Festival in summer. As well as that, he released a stripped-down 5-track EP, So Long Baby Shoes in 2010 and is heading into the studio to record his next album. The following demo, available to stream, is an enticing preview of the upcoming material. His unmistakable singing drawl matched with that slow and sombre guitar playing that although not dissimilar to his previous work but still sounds just as impressive.
