PHARAOHS
SBTRKT has been slowly but steadily releasing his lovely blend of bleeps, beeps, and squeaks. Due to release his debut LP on the 27th, one last track has been put up for our listening pleasures.
“Pharaohs” is definitely a track from SBTRKT, the sounds are a little more set for the dance floor, but capture this readiness to be listened to all. If there’s one thing Pharaohs demonstrates, its SBTRKT is not a one trick pony, a pigeon whole that oh so many dance artists fall into. Without a doubt, this track could be played in your own sound system, but it’s one that I can hear going very well in a dance environment.
It’s pace is unfaltering, keeping the bopping synth going throughout the track. The sweet vocals of Roses Gabor lead the synth, keeping the upbeat feel of the whole affair up in the air.
At one point you can hear a voice similar to that of Adele’s, building up to a last push. It’s parts like these that we all wait for, the build up and the final burst of energy. SBTRKT does this, he does it smoothly and flawlessly.
Pharaohs has that summer vibe, the vibe that can be heard in festival season, and throughout our sun filled days, I can not tell you how much I am looking forward to his debut LP, and getting to see these tracks in the flesh.
SBTRKT will be releasing his self titled LP on Young Turks, set to release on the 27th of June.
