Manipulated, hushed vocals are confused and unanswered questions and insurmountable fears that aren’t worth thinking about manifest in the five minutes of this song’s fragile beauty. It’s tenderly tense construction gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it. Yet, despite sounding like and making me contemplate all those niggling anxieties in my life, neither do I want it to end. In the fuller context of the EP, Increases, the slight pause before the next song is a tortuous, bittersweet affair and I long for the song, and in extension the emotions it conjures, to perpetuate. This realisation, that I can’t live without these gut-wrenching feelings, is the hardest thing to swallow.
