THE NOOSE OF JAH CITY

Wow. For someone still 17 years old, King Krule, formerly Zoo Kid, sure knows how to write touching, emotion driven music. His cutting lyricism and rasping, aged vocal seems to be directed at himself more than any other, a choric reprise of “I’m always to blame” sounds full of honesty, a chord of empathy struck within an instant. Self-deprecation then, nothing new, but as Archy Marshall has strung it around his undeniably charming, and impressive, music you’d be hard pressed to find fault in it.

Marshall releases his debut King Krule EP on the frequently amazing label True Panther Sounds, November 8th.
