Hailed as “way ahead of her time” by Gilles Peterson, Iranian born producer, Leila is that and more. “(disappointed cloud) anyway)” starts with a relatively ‘nice and simple’ beat, but as the track progresses, so does her style of producing. What started with an innocent electronic pop sound, changes, taking it into various musical directions, ranging from grime, house, and experimental electronica. The one individual sound that has some sense of continuity is the bass synth, which acts like a very vague outline for Leila to essentially explore her musical boundaries. “(dissappointed cloud) anyway” is strange, but something to behold, brilliant creativity that you can listen to.
