DO DEKOR

Despite this track being released sometime during 2001, I could not resist putting it up. There’s nothing like going back once and awhile, especially to an artist who is as relevant as Jan Jelinek, an electronic producer that arrived on the scene 13 years ago. “Do Dekor”‘s sleepy hiss, and minimal synth, could easily been on any number of artist’s LPs that have been released in the past month, let alone the past year. It’s this timelessness that I believe is the ultimate achievement of any piece of music. It’s untrue when people say that a particular genre is dieing, I’m not sure how many times hip hop has supposedly died and come back to life. The only thing a genre can do, is grow as more and more is added to it.
