Roughly 10-20 minutes ago, word has spread of The xx’s debut single off their album “Coexist”, which should be dropping sometime in September.
The follow up of their previous self titled album is undoubtedly an incredibly tough job, however, they have paced themselves, which gives me hope that “Coexist” will be as good as “xx” at least.
Angels, the track in question, is simply brilliant, soft, melodic and a little less melancholic, but still holding that sombre feel down. It feels different to “XX” but retains there core sound, which personally hits the spot for me. Pretty hypnotizing video as well.
