short stories – on the way/let it go

I am going to be completely honest, when I discovered this happened I choked a bit on my tea. Released a month ago, it definitely caught us off guard so early in the year. Short Stories is (my dream duo) Koreless and Sampha, both recognised solo artists, with a common interest in making brilliant electronic music with a soulful dance edge. If your familier with Koreless and Sampha, you will recognise their trademark sound within Short Stories, however, especially with “On The Way”, a little more experimental. According the Koreless’s facebook the 12″ sold out in 3 days, with good reason too, both “Let It Go” and “On The Way”‘s high contrast of deep & sparse esque against the sometimes hectic feel of urgency, work flawlessly. I really hope this isn’t a one off. Please let there be more.
