airhead – october

Some very dark and dingy beats coming from London producer Airhead. Airhead has taken quite a turn with ‘October’, going for a menacing beat and aggressive rhythm instead of a more delicate and lighter sound. Theres a definite grime influence in this, with the synth pattern chiming over the swung beat, you can almost hear some MC spitting a few bars over it. Finally, around the 2.38 mark, comes the most terrifying string sample I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. This is the kind of string sample that only appears when a serial killer is about to strike, so definitely no listening to this whilst walking down a dodgy alley. Regardless, this is a great track coming from Airhead, and it’s good to see him really switching it up. Currently out on Hemlock Recordings.
