premiere: laura doggett – moonshine (authr edition)

Authr’s remix of Moonshine by Laura Doggett introduces Doggett’s vocals with a soft bass rhythm and shuddering ambience. As the pace begins to quicken, what initially sounds like a down tempo electronica remix, eases in to something that could easily be heard from a house night in its later hours. Laura Doggett’s voice has so much potential for remixing, and Authr has definitely managed to capture that. It faintly reminds me of Bonobo’s ‘Black Sands’, notably through the way in which he uses an E.Q filter to create the rise and drops throughout the track. Moonshine itself is a brilliant tune, however Authr has successfully managed to bring it into the electronic dance realm, holding his own with tight production and a spacious sound.
